Trust you all had a happy Christmas with family and friends.

On Monday 27 December, the WA Government extended the Public Health and Social measures in existence, further until 6 am Tuesday 4 January 2022.

As a reminder, what this means when at the Club is:

  • Mask wearing is mandatory indoors
  • Seated food and beverage service only
  • Practice good hygiene
  • Sign in using the Safe WA contact tracing register

New Years Eve Event

The extension of these Public Health and Social measures also has a significant impact on the Clubs planned New Years Eve celebrations, so much so that we have had to make the difficult decision this morning to cancel the event.

This decision was not made lightly, with a number of Members contacted this morning to ascertain their intentions of attending the function with the further restriction of no dancing permitted and the inability to stand up and mingle with friends. It was quickly determined that if the restrictions remained in place, then the majority would cancel their bookings.

The Club also must be mindful of the significant cost involved in running such an event particularly with the entertainment booked, and therefore believes we wouldn’t be doing justice for the event that Members deserve by having to enforce the restrictions.

As such, a full refund will be made to your Member account next week when the Clubs accounts staff return from annual leave.

As an alternative, for those Members still wishing to visit the Club, the following options are available for Friday night, 31 December:

  • The Members bar and restaurant will be operating as normal, with reservations required. Please ensure you contact Reception asap to make a booking to assist with catering and staff rostering.
  • The Wet Bar, subject to numbers in attendance, will remain open past the normal 9 pm closure.

Both Club areas remain subject to seated food and beverage consumption only and mask-wearing when indoors (this includes the Wet Bar).

Our sincerest apologies are offered to Members for any inconvenience caused for what was going to be another amazing event at the Club.

On behalf of the Management Committee and staff, we wish all Members and your families, a Happy New Year and hopefully, a fewer COVID-19 interrupted 2022.
