Hillarys Yacht Club is proud to be hosting its annual Pot of Gold and Dash for Cash Regatta on January 29-30, 2022. This premier event has been running for over 30 years attracting keelboats from Perth’s river and ocean clubs and Western Australia’s premium offshore racers. The Pot of Gold races the offshore fleet from Fremantle to Hillarys and depending on the weather, usually rounding Rottnest Island.
The Dash for Cash is a Category 6 escorted keelboat race designed for smaller river and ocean racers racing along the coast, also from Fremantle to Hillarys.
The Pot of Gold also includes the Shepherdess Cup, a return race on the Sunday for the offshore boats.
Saturday Night Celebrations
Sailors, partners and guests are invited to celebrate the regatta on the Saturday night with live music, oyster shucker and paella served direct from the HYC paella pan. Other meals including vegetarian options will also be available for purchase over the bar.
Discounted accommodation is also available at nearby resorts. Please contact Hillarys Yacht Club firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
Pre-Race Launching and Mooring
Fremantle Sailing Club has kindly offered their launching facilities to launch and retrieve trailered riverboats prior to and following the regatta. Skippers can launch their boats on Friday night or Saturday morning to sail straight to the start line off hall bank. Limited mooring is also available at FSC for those boats being launched Friday afternoon. Skippers wanting to take advantage of this need to register with Chris White, FSC Sailing Manager (email@example.com) prior to Friday, January 14.
