North Coast Series Day Two
Light to begin with, the breeze filled in from the south-west to eighteen knots for the second day of racing in the north coast series between Hillarys Yacht Club and Ocean Reef Sea Sports Club on Sunday morning.
Capitalising in the stronger breeze, the crew of Perle handled the difficult conditions well to record two wins in division one. Mulberry (Mark Pitt) skippered by notable Neil Harrison chased Whispering Jack (Bruce Bradford) around the course to finish second on handicap with Bad Habits (Ian Holder) third. In race two Bad Habits was second and Whispering Jack third but fastest in both races.
In division two it was battle between Blue Chip (Keith and Deborah Fisk), Farrouk (Des and Gail Riley) and Covert Operation (Bart Brouwer and Graham Atkinson) for fastest time with Covert Operation holding sway. However Blue Chip came away with a first and third placing on handicap whilst Ocean Reef yacht Panache (Geoff James) won race one. Show Me (Tim Tucker) was second in race one and Volant (Emille Janssen, Frank Hagemann, Kevin Meta, John Ball) was second in race two with Covert Operation third.
The honours were shared in division three with Intuition (Marc Carpenter) first and third, Hard Evidence (Peter Hibberd) second and first and Tosca (Stuart Marks and Leigh Collins) third and second in races one and two respectively. Hard Evidence was fastest in both races.
