The much anticipated showdown between two contenders for the Ocean Series trophy was all over by high noon when the breeze faded leaving the catamaran Sally Malay languishing at the back whilst Mulberry powered ahead to record a first and fastest, a feat repeated in the return race the following day.

It was first and second for the catamarans, Sally Malay (Ian Walker) and Out The Back (Alan Wallace) in both races Hillarys to Mindarie and the return following a much-needed food and liquid intake over lunch.

It was a busy time over the Labour Day long weekend for many of our sailors as they represented our Club at the Laser State Championships at Busselton, the Optimist State Championships at South Perth, and at Walpole's "Regatta in the Trees" which included the Tasar and 125 Classes.
