Social Groups

Social Groups

As well as a vibrant social scene with Club events and within the watersports activities, the Club also has a few social groups that get together regularly. Its a great way to meet new people with various interests and from all walks of life and in fact, life-long friendships have been formed in these groups.

You are most welcome to take part in these groups, at no extra cost to your membership, as little or as often as you like. We are very friendly bunch, so please feel free to join us!

The Tuesday Group

The Tuesday Group

Originally started in 1993 for members that were not allied to any other groups within the Club, the Tuesday Group has grown and developed into a fun-loving social group that also volunteers around the Club, predominantly with the distribution of our quarterly Compass Magazine. The group attends Club social events together as well as their own get-togethers where you’ll find some of the best cakes you’ve ever seen!

The Tuesday Group are actively seeking new members and new ideas for social outings and is not just limited to Tuesdays! If you’d like to get involved and make some new friends, give the Club a call on 9246 2833 to see what the group is up to next!

The Fat Boys

The self-titled group bring a good sense of humour to exercise and a healthy lifestyle, enjoying a bike ride along the coast every Wednesday at 4pm (weather permitting). Some cycle to the Club and others bring bikes in cars and as a group, they cycle for around an hour before enjoying a few hard-earned drinks in the Club. Various levels of fitness are catered for but most will agree that the real motivation is the beer with friends on Wednesday afternoons!

The Fat Boys meet at the Wet Bar on Wednesday afternoons, and depart for their cycle at 4pm.

The Fit Chics

Originally started as the wives’ answer to The Fat Boys, The Fit Chics has become a vibrant walking group in its own right. While the men push pedals, the women pound the pavement with a walk down the coast and back, taking in the ocean views and having a good natter along the way. The ladies walk in fast, medium and slow groups to cater for all levels of fitness. At 5pm, back at the Club Bar, the group transforms into The Sip Chics to enjoy a drink on the Club verandah! A lovely, social bunch, the Fit Chics are always on the look out for more walking buddies and friends so if you feel like getting some fresh air and meeting new people, please feel free to join us!

The Fit Chics meet just before 4pm every Wednesday in the Club Foyer and start walking at 4pm.

The Caravan Cruisers

This social group consists of Members from all sections of the Club who enjoy being on the road almost as much as on the water. With the increasing interest in touring WA, the group has grown significantly since its inception in 2020. The group organises three rallies per year, March, June/July, and November, which are planned well in advance to cater for the increasing number of RVs attending. The duration of each rally is generally 4-5 days and no more than 400 km from Perth. Send us your email address to get on the mailing list, and join our group on Facebook for more information on upcoming rallies.
