Twilight Cruise

3 May 2024

Once a regular event on Friday evenings, the Twilight Cruise offered by the Keel and Cruising in Company divisions attracted guests eager to experience yachting at its finest. Now the Twilight Cruise has been replaced by a Saturday casual sail once a month however that didn’t stop Keelboat skippers, crews and friends enjoying a pleasant twilight cruise north of Hillarys followed by dinner and drinks in the Members’ Bar on Friday evening May 3rd. Nine boats participated with upwards of 50 crew on-board setting sail before sunset heading north in a moderate sea breeze in the protected waters off Whitfords Nodes and Mullaloo. Skippers and crew enjoyed on-board refreshments, picturesque sunset views and the good company of the yachts sailing around them. Shortly after the sun set, skippers activated their navigation lights and turned for home amidst the increasingly darkening skies. Once the yachts were safely back in their pens, attendees moved upstairs to the Members’ Bar for dinner and drinks, concluding with an impromptu, unplugged singalong later in the evening. The wonderful night may have offered a portent of good times to come with the upcoming Keel Presentation Dinner later this month.
